Craft
Since coloring sheets have gone over so well at the daycare, I’ve decided to go ahead and keep using them. The teachers love the sheets and the practice the kids get with holding crayons.
How It Went
I love Emma Dodd and so do my kids! I did this storytime right around Mother’s Day which is why I went with “I Love My Mommy” instead of “I Love My Daddy.” But as awesome as all Emma Dodd books are…hands down, “Dog’s Colorful Day” wins every time. My kids know that book’s spine and if they see it in my pile, it’s likely that I’ll hear about it before I get to it.
Ha, I’m reading Dog’s Colorful Day (and doing a matching craft — sticking colored dot stickers to Dog) in storytime this morning! Hooray for Dog!
Dog is the best!
I just did Dog’s Colorful Day last week – with a brand new flannelboard! The kids always love it, and I never get tired of him either. Our theme last week was colors, but the kids launched into an impromptu lesson in counting in Spanish too!
Congrats on the new flannelboard! My kids love Dog, too, and often ask if I’ve brought him.
