Getting the Wiggles Out

Master List || Opening & Closing Songs || Getting the Wiggles Out || Rhymes for Babies

Got a problem with wigglers? These are my favorite activities for getting the wiggles out!

Stretching
When I stretch up, I feel so tall. (Reach high)
When I bend down, I feel so small. (Bend over)
Taller, taller, taller, taller. (Reach up high and higher.)
Smaller, smaller, smaller, smaller. (Get low on the floor.)
Into a tiny ball. (Sit down.)

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground
Teddy bear, teddy bear, reach up high
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the sky
Teddy bear, teddy bear, find your nose
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch your toes
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch your knees
Teddy bear, teddy bear, sit down please

This Is Big
This is big, big, big (Hold arms to the side)
This is small, small, small (Cups hand together)
This is short, short, short (Hold hands with palms facing each other)
This is tall, tall, tall (Reach one hand above head)
This is fast, fast, fast (Circle fists quickly)
This is slow, slow, slow (Circle fists slowly)
This is yes, yes, yes (Nod head)
This is no, no, no (Shake head no)

The Wiggles
A wiggle wiggle here,
A wiggle wiggle there,
Wiggle your hands up in the air.
Wiggle your shoulders,
Wiggle your hips,
Wiggle your knees,
And move your lips.
Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle.
And wiggle some more –
And now let’s sit down on the floor.

I like your little wiggle rhyme. I’m doing baby story time right now but when I switch to toddlers I’m going to use that one

I have been using a rhyme for years and I pull it out right in the middle of a book if the kids are all wiggly and it woks like a charm. I also do the actions with it to :0). If the kids are REALLY wiggly I jump up to catch their attention and do it…on the last line I sit down and say it very quietly.

    Here it goes like this;

I have tens fingers and they all belong to me!
I can make them do things, would you like to see?
I can close them up tight
I can open them up wide
    I can. clap them together
And I can make them hide
I can make them swing high
I can make them swing low
I can fold them gently and hold them just so!

Wish I would have thought of that!
Thank you for sharing = )
You might also like to use “Open Shut Them…”

Open shut them, open shut them
(hands open wide/then into a fist)
Give a little clap clap clap
Open shut them open shut them
Put them in your lap lap lap
Creep them creep them slowly creep them
Right up to your chin chin chin…
Open up your little mouth buuutttt do not let them in!

I’m guessing that you’re experiencing a problem with your browser/computer.

The website looks like this in Chrome, Firefox, & Internet Explorer to me: https://storytimekatie.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/screenshot.jpg

I’ve also checked the mobile site and it’s up and running as well. If you want me to do some more investigating to see if there’s a problem, please leave me some details about what kind of broswer/computer system you’re using.
