Flannel Friday: Counting Sheep!

For this week, I have adorable sheep that Mary from Miss Mary Liberry was kind enough to share and give a pattern for!

Unlike Mary, I am not a puffy paint expert, and therefore, I only had black on hand to write out the numbers.

I will be using this in my Number Ten storytime, which is coming up in a few short weeks! Like Mary, I will probably do a lot of discussion and game playing with this set, and I do plan on reading “Counting Ovejas” since I am also a huge bilingual area.

Katie is hosting this week’s Flannel Friday round-up. You can visit her blog to link up with us! For more information about Flannel Friday and joining us, please visit the Flannel Friday website.

Adorable sheep! You’re a whole lot better with puffy pain than I am; I find writing with it (even numbers) to be really difficult.

Also, I believe Katie is hosting this week’s roundup? http://storytimesecrets.blogspot.com/2013/01/flannel-friday-round-up-for-january-18.html

You are right! This is what happens when you work on scheduling too many posts at the same time — you completely mix up your weeks. Thank you!

Also, you didn’t see the two sheep I re-did because the puffy paint was yucky…

I’m a big fan of sheep in general and your pattern was perfect for flannel sheep!

Aaaw! I love how bright and cheery they are! I’m wondering if I can get 10 made for our Nursery Rhyme Mystery program tomorrow. We are searching for Bo Peep’s sheep out in our stacks. This would be a perfect lead in to that. Hmmmm….

Btw, I love the idea of a Counting to 10 (or any other number) storytime. I have never even thought to do a storytime around counting to a specific number. I am definitely “stealing” your idea!

    Thanks for sharing this week!

Please do steal it! I have loved doing my number storytimes with the kids these past months!

So cute! And I love the black puffy paint on the colored sheep — it really stands out!
